2022 AUA ACADEMIC CONFERENCE

ON LEARNING IN A POST-COVID-19 ERA

13-17 JUNE 2022 | VIRTUAL CONFERENCES

The Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has impacted every segment of society. The disruption caused by the pandemic is devastating. It forced all sectors to adjust their thinking and impose a new order, including the world of education. The pandemic has disrupted traditional schooling. It has driven educators to change their perspectives and practices. Learning in the new normal is a new challenge. The distance learning has abruptly changed the roles of teachers, students, and parents. The School is no longer the only place to study, neither the teacher is the only source of learning, while the use of information and communication technology has become a significant tool for learning in the digital age.

Nevertheless, the way of creating the new normal should go beyond the current pandemic and develop deeper on social inequity and the right of citizens to quality education. The pandemic has particularly highlighted the long-standing educational inequalities for children around the world. By organizing this academic conference, Chulalongkorn University aims to connect common concerns, insights, and aspirations shared by leading scholars and practitioners in AUA member institutions and other stakeholders in society, to seek new learning that would serve Asia. The crisis is an opportunity to revive our whole education system, a new form of equitable quality education for all. The conference will be designed to encourage AUA and Non-AUA member participants to bring forth their ideas across the Asian continent. Asia has great diversity in terms of ethnicity, languages, religion, and various other cultural practice and there is much that we could learn from each other. Hopefully, it would allow a common line of academic inquiry that could bring together and perhaps encourage future collaborations among participants with similar interests.
